Are men really smarter than women?

Ok, I’m don’t usually post any of the sometimes really funny stories I get in my email box every day, but this one was just too out there (for better or worse). A good friend of mine (female, btw) sent it to me today. Just for my own marriage’s sake; this does not necessarily reflect my personal opinion. (more…)

Managing expectations or dealing with the “difficult” 2%

Over the years I had many interesting discussions with past and current customers of Globat (and some of my other companies prior to Globat). These mostly very constructive and candid exchanges usually evolved out of some customers who felt neglected, unheard or mistreated in any way by one or more customer service agents. Considering that they took the time and actually went through the trouble of finding a way to contact me directly, it is most appropriate that will give this type of customer communication highest priority. Most of the time, I was able to get their problems resolved by handing their particular issue to a customer service manager in charge. The problem with these types of issues is usually a break-down in the escalation procedure of dealing with a customer problem. (more…)

Free iPod with every hosting account purchase

Just finished our last marketing meeting for the day. We are getting ready to launch one of the craziest promos our industry has ever seen. As of today (Feb 23 at noon) and for a few days (or until we run out) Globat.com is offering a free iPod Shuffle with all hosting packages purchased! (more…)

Affiliates are extremely important to us

I’m excited! For the past few months Globat’s development, marketing, and affiliate teams have been working on a complete overhaul of our affiliate program. The result of it, we named it GloFlex™, will be launched during the first week of March. I am certain that GloFlex will revolutionize the world of web hosting affiliate programs. We are starting to include things such as recurring commissions, custom coupon codes, and performance incentives to make our affiliates true partners in our business success. Personally, I can’t wait to get feedback from the thousands of affiliates that are part of our program already. I’ll keep you posted.

The importance of vision – Iceberg, straight ahead!

I firmly believe that a business can develop only to the extent the owner(‘s) personally develop(s). Reality is that most people, without a proper vision, do not reach their full potential; in fact, 8 out of 10 will not reach the level of success in business or in life they desire.

You wonder why? Simple answer. Unpopular, but simple. Because in business, as in life, most people don’t act – they react. Harv Eker clearly nails this in his book, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, “Most people are unconscious.
They are asleep at the wheel”. While most unfortunate, most people acknowledge only what they can see and concentrate on success – and their lives – on a pretty shallow level. They live firmly in the “visible” world. (more…)

Rate of technology vs. rate of human adaptation

Adam is my personal trainer and the owner of Los Angeles’ S.T.A.R. Fitness Training (a division of Star Enterprises, Inc.). Given my latest determination to get back the my fitness level of my days as a kick boxing athlete I asked Adam to post a few of his experiences and opinions about health and fitness (you can only enjoy your business success if you stay healthy!) on my blog. We share many of the same philosophies (he from a fitness and health point of view; I from the entrepreneurial and business end). Interesting parallels as you will see! Anyway, here’s his first post: (more…)

Another New Years Resolution

I guess “Happy New Year” well wishes are called for so here we go.
Went to the gym nearly daily before New Years with hardly anyone being there. Than Jan 1 happens and the place is packed. It is truly amazing what an effect New Years Resolutions can have on people’s minds. As if the date is reason enough to change. As with every January it’ll fade out within less than 4 weeks and go back to normal. (more…)

Time flies…

Wow, it’s been a while! The last 4 weeks have been pretty eventful. Globat keeps growing along and it’s fun to sit back and see how the team we created is now starting to take things into their own hands. Lou Rio has been promoted to VP of Operations as he is one of the best process-oriented people I’ve met. He’s already done lots of good things for the company and I have no doubt that there’s plenty more to come. It doesn’t cease to amaze me how powerful the right person in the right position can be. It’s good to see it happen. (more…)

Back in the groove…

Boy, its been a while since I posted here, but November has truly been a busy and eventful month. Chris and I worked a bit more on the Charity Foundation we are setting up and we updated the MillionDollarHelpPage.com. We also contributed everything the page earned so far to the New Orleans vicitims and Globat matched it dollar for dollar. It was pretty cool to be able to help our charity partner Corps of Compassion put together this major Thanksgiving event in New Orleans. (more…)

MillionDollarHelpPage.com

We just updated the design on the MillionDollarHelpPage.com. Now people can choose the areas in which they want to place their pixels in order to select where they want to help. We’re really starting to push the MillionDollarHelpPage.com now to get the urgently needed help to the folks down in Louisiana.
